Conceptualized in 2009, then later established in 2015, The Limited Edition Gallery (LEG) specializes in sneaker art and culture. Sneaker art uses sneakers as the subject for visual art pieces in the form of drawings, paintings, photographs, and sculptures. LEG seeks to advance sneaker culture in a positive light showing sneakerheads are people who collect, trade or admires, sneakers as a hobby.
Raeven King, an avid sneaker collector, who has over twenty years in the sneaker community, found LEG. Born in Queens, NY, raised all over the world. King became a kicks enthusiast at a young age. In High School she used her passion for trainers to write her senior exit paper on footwear industry and technology. Understanding her love for sneakers she worked for retail stores like the Finish Line, NBA Store, and Foot Locker.
Realizing a maturing group of sneaker collectors lack options in advancing their passion in sneakers, King turned to art. There is beauty in the design. King wants to establish a connection between a community that would not normally look at buying fine art and a community that would not normally look at sneakers as fine art.
